Hi, I'm Rachel Lau Freeman,
a born and bred Hong Kong-er currently based in Portugal.
I can't remember when my love of food began. I guess it started when I was a kid, when my grandma and mom would bring me to dim sum restaurants, "cha chaan teng", or food courts and let me pick my favourite food almost every day!
Back in Hong Kong, despite my busy work schedule, I couldn't escape the call of the kitchen. Nights after work (and even weekends!) found me hidden among a sea of kitchen utensils, cookbooks and YouTube videos teaching me the necessary techniques. Perhaps I not only found the process of making something from scratch therapeutic, but it also brought me joy to see my loved ones enjoying my dishes.
To me, food will always be associated with good times, good people, and good memories. Through this website, I seek to document my good times, recipes and memories, and share them with you all.
